Hydrovac services in Markham are mostly about fiber: exposing existing telecom, slot trenching new laterals and potholing subdivision services with water and vacuum instead of a bucket. The Highway 7 tech corridor is where most of that work happens.
The fiber load is still growing. CIK Telecom has signed a municipal master agreement with the city and plans to invest $300 million over 10 years in a fibre-to-the-city network, adding conduit to boulevards that already carry several carriers' cables. Utility contractors file a Municipal Consent application for work in the right-of-way, and every crossing on the route still needs exposing before the trench or bore goes through.
Unionville is one of four designated Heritage Conservation Districts in the city, with 19th-century homes along Main Street Unionville, so we keep the truck footprint small and the dig tight there. Our tech corridor fiber slot trenching job ran four days for $22,800, with every crossing exposed first.
Jobs here run on the same owned trucks, Red Seal crews and published CAD rate card as all of our hydrovac services across Toronto and the GTA.
